More efficiency, speed and simplicity – the digital transformation is underway in hospitals
Less paperwork for patients and a simplified patient admission process for hospital stays at Spital Thurgau. Thanks to Compassana and Spital Thurgau, being admitted to hospital and discharged are seamless and efficient processes.

Being admitted to hospital can often be stressful for patients, doctors and all medical staff alike. Filling in forms, compiling lists of medications and entering them manually into the hospital information system, obtaining documents from various locations (GPs, physiotherapists, medical laboratories, etc.) – all of these tasks take up time that should really be spent on patient care. But that’s all about to change: Compassana ensures a seamless digital registration process that cuts down on administrative work so that more time can ultimately be spent with patients.
Starting today, patients will be able to upload their medical data to the Compassana app digitally before arriving at the hospital – and doctors can use this information to prepare for surgery. No more messy paperwork, no more tedious filling in of forms when patients arrive. This saves precious time and improves the quality of care for all patients.
How does Compassana help?
- Digital medication management: Patients can easily keep track of their medication using the app. After all, nobody knows better than they do exactly which medicines they are taking. Doctors and nursing staff then have direct access to the most up-to-date information, which enables them to provide a more precise and informed level of medical care.
- Faster workflows at the hospital: The relevant details are available in the hospital information system even before patients get there. This cuts down on waiting times and optimises how treatment is planned for all patients.
- Simpler discharge: After their hospital stay, patients receive their documents in digital form – eliminating paper clutter and the risk of documents going missing.
- Seamless integration: Outpatient care providers affiliated with Compassana have access to their patients’ hospital discharge documents once they have been discharged from hospital. In this way, Compassana is connecting outpatient and inpatient departments, while taking another step towards patient-centred communication in the process.

Thanks to its ecosystem and underlying platform, Compassana is much more than just a patient portal. A growing network of partners across the various levels of the healthcare system is already working together on the Compassana platform.
