Question of the month: How does the Compassana app support me while I am on holidays?

Holidays at last! Your bags are packed, your passport is ready, and anticipation is building. But what if you suddenly come down with a high temperature while on the beach, get an upset stomach or twist your ankle while hiking in the mountains?

Als dein digitaler Gesundheitsbegleiter sorgt die App dafür, dass du auch im Ausland entspannt und sicher unterwegs bist.

For many people, falling ill far from home – perhaps even in a country where the language is different – is a stressful prospect. This is exactly where Compassana comes in. As your digital medical assistant, the app ensures that you can travel abroad with peace of mind and confidence. How Compassana supports you when travelling:

  1. All your important documents in your pocket
Vaccination card, allergy passport or latest medical test results: Instead of having to scramble to find important documents or call home in an emergency, Compassana lets you store everything securely in encrypted form on your smartphone. if you need to see a doctor locally while on holiday, you will have your medical history at your fingertips.
  2. A digital list of medications for customs and in case of emergencies
Are you taking regular medication? At customs, it can be useful to be able to provide a quick list of your personal medication upon request. Even more important: If your luggage gets lost or you forget your medication at the hotel, the Compassana app will provide you with detailed information on the active ingredients and dosages you require. This way, you can quickly find a suitable replacement at a local pharmacy.
  3. What to do first if you feel unwell: Symptom checker
An upset stomach after eating street food, or perhaps something more serious? If you feel unwell while abroad, the symptom checker integrated in the Compassana app can help. Simply answer a few questions on your symptoms – 24 hours a day, and in your native language. This will help you make an informed initial assessment of whether a visit to the doctor or local hospital is really necessary, or if getting some rest will do the trick.
  4. A direct line to telemedicine in Switzerland
Sometimes, when you have health concerns, you simply want to talk to a trusted medical professional from your home country. The Compassana ecosystem allows you to access telemedicine consultations (depending on your insurance plan with partners such as SWICA, Groupe Mutuel or Helsana) quickly and easily. A brief consultation can provide reassurance and help you plan what to do next in the country you are visiting.

Our tip before you leave: Before heading off on your holiday, set aside 10 minutes to update your Compassana app to the latest version. Update your medication list, upload important medical documents, and check that your medical information is complete.

The Compassana team hopes you have a carefree and relaxing time and, above all, good health during your holidays!
