Question of the month: what role does Compassana play in emergency care?
Emergencies often happen unexpectedly. This is when it is particularly important to have the information you need to hand quickly. Compassana can help you stay on top of things even in extraordinary situations – while also improving your healthcare.

With Compassana, you have access to vital medical information round the clock. Doctors and emergency teams can assess what needs to be done more quickly if they have access to your relevant information – for example, allergies, medications or previous diagnoses.
This is particularly helpful if you
- suddenly experience severe discomfort,
- are not at your usual doctor’s practice
- require medical assistance abroad.
The specific benefits that Compassana can offer you
- Medical data that is accessible quickly: save lists of medications, doctors’ and hospital reports, laboratory results or diagnoses so that they can be accessed immediately in an emergency.
- Symptom check: if you have an acute medical emergency, you will be given an initial assessment to determine whether you should go to the accident and emergency department or if a visit to a doctor is sufficient.
- The right people to contact: based on your insurance plan, the app will show you who you should contact first if you need medical assistance. This currently applies to customers of Helsana, SWICA and Groupe Mutuel.
What you need to bear in mind
- Under no circumstances should Compassana be used as an alternative to calling 144 in an emergency or for immediate assistance in the event of potentially life-threatening symptoms.
- To make sure your data can really help in an emergency, you should update it promptly and regularly, for example by saving your medication and documents.
- If you are unable to do this yourself in an emergency, it is advisable to specify in advance who should have access to your data.
