According to the Data Protection Act, your medical information constitutes “sensitive personal data”. Because you save your medical information in the Compassana app, a maximum level of security is required to safeguard it from unauthorized access.

Until now, the security measures involved included confirming your identity using an official photo ID and selfie video, as well as two-factor authentication. You can now also use some of our features without the need for video identification, e.g. searching for specialists and saving documents. If you have registered with your Helsana, Groupe Mutuel or SWICA account, you can also access your insurance guide and the list of medications automatically uploaded by your insurer.

We are making it easier to access some of our services so that you can get to know our app. This ties in with the fact that we have also introduced text messaging (SMS) as a second identification factor. You will be familiar with the concept from many online services: you receive a code via text message on your mobile phone, which you will need to enter to keep your account secure.

For security reasons, however, a number of features will continue to be reserved for users who have identified themselves using the Videoident process. These include booking appointments, secure messaging and sharing medical data with their own doctor or telemedicine provider via Compassana Med Cockpit
